                                                KNOX BOX RAPID ENTRY SYSTEM

The KNOX-BOX® Rapid Entry System was specifically developed for the fire department. With one master key, firefighters can gain access to commercial and residential property. More than 9,000 departments nationwide use Knox® key boxes, vaults, Haz-Mat cabinets, key switches, locking FDC caps, and padlocks.

Each KNOX-BOX purchased by the property owner is keyed to a single master key controlled by the Fire District. With the Knox System, there is no waiting for a property owner to unlock the door in the middle of the night, and no forcing the door open to gain entry. The Knox Rapid Entry System reduces response time, property damage and liability for lost keys.
The Union Fire Protection District has included in its Fire Code Ordinance guidelines for the requirement of Knox Box Rapid Entry Systems.

  • Buildings in all use groups equipped with a fire suppression system
  • A central alarm system
  • Building's equipped with a lockable interior stairway or corridor doors
  • All gates shall be equipped with the Knox Lock system

Knox Box Rapid Entry System information & applications are available at the
Union Fire Protection District Station #1 located at 1401 W. Springfield or contact us at 636-583-2515.
